New Delhi, April 21: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention on settling the Rs 3,100-crore Cash Credit Limit (CCL) gap that had been converted into long term loan (LTL).
A state government spokesperson said Capt Amarinder in separate letters to Modi and Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan stressed that the CCL gap could not be solely attributed to the state. The Centre should share the state’s burden.
The gap had arisen due to systemic and structural reasons, he stated in the letter. He reminded that he had earlier also taken up the matter with the Centre, but to no avail.
In his correspondence to Paswan, Amarinder raised the issue of release of the pending VAT payment, as well as non-reimbursement of the actual expenditure on procurement of gunny bags, to the procurement agencies.
He reminded Paswan of his earlier communication of March 26, regarding reimbursement of VAT amount of Rs 952 crore to the state agencies.
