Career in Call Centres, BPO Industry’ talk organized at PSDM

Continuing further on the initiative “Career Talk” by Punjab Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Mission (PGRKAM) and Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, regarding employment and career opportunities in different sectors, third round of the event on the Topic “Career in Call Centres/ BPO Industry” organised on Wednesday here at Punjab Skill Development Mission Office.

Disclosing this, Director General, Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training Deepti Uppal said that the objective of the event was to help the youth of Punjab with the expert opinion on how they can shape their career in the Call Centres/BPO Industry and enhance their employment opportunities. The key focus areas of the Career Talk were the career opportunities that may be pursued by 10th, 12th or graduate candidates in Call Centres/BPO industry, pros and cons of working in this industry and the future prospects.

During the event, Rajwinder Singh Boparai, President Best Bay Trucking and Best Bay Logistics & SRP Digital Services and SRP US Logistics Pvt. Ltd. addressed the youth of Punjab Live through the official Facebook Page of PGRKAM and shared the insights about the industry, broke the myths related to this industry like long and late night working hours and how to maintain the work life balance. The difference between the BPOs and the call centres was also highlighted. Two candidates from this industry also shared their success stories to motivate the youth to work hard and pursue their dreams. Almost 4000 candidates joined the session from Facebook LIVE, the 23 District Bureaus of Employment and Enterprises, Polytechnic Institutes and colleges in Punjab.
