Central team assesses religious tourism potential of Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib, January 08, 2018: Considering the religious and historical importance of the Fatehgarh Sahib, the Government has decided to develop it as a religious heritage tourism center of the world, under which all the historical and heritage buildings situated in the district like Gurudwara Fatehgarh sahib, Gurudwara Sri Joti Swarup Sahib, Roza Sharif, Mata Chakreshwari Devi Jain temple, Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial, Sultan Behlol lodhi’s haveli, Begum Subhan Bibi ki Mazar, Sadna Kasai ki Maseet and Diwan Todar Mall haveli will be preserved.

To assess the old buildings of Fatehgarh Sahib a high power team led by Kapil Arora technical advisor from Tourism Board, New Delhi accompanied by State Govt. representatives and Kuljeet Singh Nagra MLA visited all the spots to make a comprehensive plan for the development of these historical places. MLA briefed about the historical and religious importance of these places to team members.It is worth mentioning that Union Govt. has sanctioned Rs 20 for providing an ancient look to the religious and historical buildings of Fatehgarh Sahib and for up gradation of Sanghol museum.

Kuljit Singh Nagra MLA said that the team comprising technical engineers of Union and State Govt. is visiting to assess the old buildings of Fatehgarh Sahib and will make a comprehensive plan for the development of Fatehgarh Sahib as religious heritage tourism center and the project to provide antique look will start soon. He said that all the roads linking these historical places will be converted into four laining and ornamental trees will be planted for beautification.He said that historic Aam khas bhag will be given ancient look, an information center, a small theater-like center will be set up which will provide tourists with audio and visual information about the Fatehgarh Sahib and Sirhind areas.
