Landran, Mohali, April 17, 2018: Ankit Arora, a computer science engineering student of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran, has got a job offer with an annual package of Rs 31.7 from Amazon India world’s third largest information technology company.
CGC Landran witnessed a robust placement season with 5,134 placement offers across all streams. In the engineering steam, in addition to computer science engineering and IT engineering, electronics and communication engineering saw a rise in offer packages with the highest of Rs. 10 Lakh and average package of Rs. 4 Lakh. Rs. 8 Lakh was the highest package offered in the mechanical engineering stream with the average package of Rs. 3 Lakh.
This year, CGC hosted more than 492 MNCs including Fortune 500 companies like Amazon, Microsoft, HP etc., and those from sectors including IT, Aviation, Banking, Retail, Hospitality & Tourism, Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology, Banking & Financial Management, among others.
Additionally, CGC is also a part of an industry-academia partnership programme with Infosys called Campus-Connect which aims to keep the faculty and students of technical institutions updated with the latest industry best practices. It also has in place an understanding with software major IBM whereby IBM has established a software lab for emerging technologies in CGC campus.
