Charanjit Singh Chadha quits as Chief Khalsa Diwan chief

Amritsar, January 23: Abiding by Akal Takht’s directions, Charanjit Singh Chadha has submitted his resignation from the post of president of the Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD).

He is scheduled to appear at Akal Takht tomorrow. On January 19, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had directed Chadha to submit his resignation before facing the clergy.

Around a month ago, a video clip purportedly showing Chadha with a school principal had gone viral. He has repeatedly claimed that the clip was doctored with the intention of defaming him.

Meanwhile, All India Sikh Students’ Federation (AISSF) activists Manjit Singh Bhoma and Sarbjit Singh Jammu have submitted a memorandum to Akal Takht, demanding action against Chadha as per the maryada.
