CM Amarinder to open national media meet today at Chandigarh University

Chandigarh, December 9, 2017: A two-day national meet of the Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Employees Organisation will be held at Chandigarh University, Gharuan, SAS  Nagar, Mohali, on December 9 and at Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh on December 10, 2017.

A large number of delegates from different newspapers and news agencies from all over India are attending the meet.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will inaugurate the first day of the national meet at Chandigarh University, Gharuan, Mohali, on December 9, 2017 at 2.30 pm, informed Anil Gupta, president, The Tribune Employees Union

On December 10, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, V.P. Singh Badnore will inaugurate the meet at 9.30 a.m. at the Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Union Minister of Steel, Chaudhary Birender Singh will be the chief guest of the second session (12 noon), on day two.

Manohar Lal, Chief Minister, Haryana, will be chief guest of the concluding session of the meet at 2.30 p.m.  National leaders of newspaper and news agencies organisations will highlight the problems being faced by the media.

Issues relating to freedom of press, safety of journalists, challenges before media, media ethics and formation of Press Commission for media will be discussed.
