Delhi Government organising a majestic series of plays on the life of Babasahab so that every resident can learn about his legacy: CM Arvind Kejriwal
The Chief Minister stated, “We are celebrating the 75th year of independence. I want to make a big announcement today on the occasion of Babasahab’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas — the Delhi Government is organising a never seen before series of shows to make the legacy of Babasahab reach each and every child of the city. A majestic play is being prepared on his life on a very large scale. The program consisting of 50 shows will be held from 5th January 2022 onwards in the premises of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in a grand manner. The musical play will be based on his life, his thoughts, his ideas and ideology and will have the most famous artists and experts take part in it. A hundred feet stage is being prepared along with a production of international standards. The entry will be free to all so that each and every child can watch the show and seek inspiration from his life. We are perhaps the first nation in the whole world that is trying to extend the reach of Babasahab’s legacy in such a manner.”
Vowing to walk on the path shown by Dr Ambedkar and fulfill the dreams he saw for this society: CM Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “Babasahab had a dream for this country and this society, that every student should get the best possible level of education without having to struggle for it. I have now taken a vow that I will fulfill his dream. It has been 70 years and still the poor of this country are unable to get quality education. Babasahab Tera Sapna Adhura Kejriwal Karega Pura.”
Babasahab not just the most educated but also one of the most respected, renowned Indians: CM Arvind Kejriwal
Talking about the life of Babasahab, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “In my understanding, Babasahab Ambedkar is the greatest ‘sapoot’ that India has ever seen. He was the architect of our constitution. He is the reason because of which we have the most unique constitution in the whole world. He spent his whole life fighting for the oppressed and especially the Dalit community and did his best to uplift them. If I say that Babasahab was the most educated person in the history of India, I don’t think I’d be making any erroneous statement in it. I have never heard or read about anyone who had devoted themselves to education more than he did. He had a masters’ qualification in 64 subjects. For us it is even tedious to get one masters degree, he had 64 along with 2 doctorates. He did one doctorate from America, one from England. And that too when he came from a very underprivileged background. When he was studying abroad there was a time when his grant was put on hold so he had to drop everything and come back. He could only go back after somehow making monetary arrangements for his education. It is so tough for one to get admission in universities abroad even today and then there was Babasahab who managed to get two doctorates in his time and became the first Indian to do so. He was very fond of reading and in fact even knew nine languages.”
He added, “He had a personal library named Rajgir that boasted 50,000 books and was perhaps the largest in the whole world. He may not be with us today but not just India but the whole world holds his legacy in high regard and the fact that his statue stands gloriously in the museum of London next to Karl Marx only adds to how respected he is.”
Kejriwal Government already running the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana to extend quality education to the underprivileged
The Kejriwal Government has taken a resolve to uplift the downtrodden sections of the society. In that direction, it has made sure that all students from the SC/ST/OBC/EWS society get support for taking up higher education and pursuing professional careers under the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana. Under this scheme, meritorious students belonging to SC/ST/OBC and EWS categories receive free coaching from private institutes for competitive exams such as JEE, NEET, CLAT, Civil Services, Banking, Railways, SSC among others. If a kid from a family earning less than 8 lac rupees per annum is talented, they no longer have to face the hurdles of poverty. The Kejriwal Government provides them free coaching. The Kejriwal Government also provides a stipend of Rs 2,500 to the beneficiary students so that they do not face problems in their commute. It is a dream of CM Arvind Kejriwal that even the poorest of poor kids who want to become something, receive assistance and support in fulfilling their dreams.
