Sardar Darshan Singh Kotfatta is the Shiromani Akali Dal MLA from Bathinda Rural. He was born on 25-02-1952 at Kotfatta, District Bathinda. Name of his father is S. Hazura Singh. He did his Post-Graduation in Public Administration from Punjabi University in 1989.
Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 13 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies of Punjab state in northern India. Bathinda or Bhatinda (known by invaders as Tabar-e-Hind or Tabar Hindh meaning the Gateway the us India) is a city and Municipal Corporation. The city, named after the Bhati kings, is one of the oldest cities in Punjab and the current administrative headquarters of Bathinda district. It is 225 km west of the capital city of Chandigarh and is the fifth largest city of Punjab. Bathinda is nicknamed the ‘City of Lakes’, courtesy the artificial lakes in the city. The first empress of India, Razia Sultan was imprisoned in the Qila Mubarak fort in Bathinda.
