Chandigarh, August 28: The leader of opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Monday hailed the victory of AAP candidate Ram Chander in Delhi’s Bawana by-poll and congratulated Arvind Kejriwal and workers of AAP for their great efforts and hard work. Khaira said that that the poll results are a tight rap for BJP which is promoting opportunist politics throughout the country.

The LOP said that BJP tried to create defection among AAP MLAs and challenged the democratic set up of the country but the voters of Delhi stood by the pro-people policies of AAP and gave a marvelous verdict in favour of Arvind Kejriwal. He criticized BJP for imposing unnecessary polls on the people of Delhi and wasting the money of the public exchequer. “The Bawana by-poll was unwanted, uncalled for and unwarranted, so the voters of Delhi gave their verdict against BJP for promoting mischievous defections” Khaira said.

“The AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal is doing exceptionally great work in Delhi and focusing on providing facilities to the lower strata of society” said Khaira. Expressing his satisfaction over Health and Education facilities being provided in Delhi by the AAP government, Khaira said that the result of Bawana by polls is an approval of the people of Delhi to carry forward such pro-people policies.

Khaira said that the result is a major victory for AAP and it can be seen as the resurgence of party in Delhi. He further stated that the result will send a positive message among the masses throughout the country, and the graph of AAP will certainly rise in days to come. The leader said that AAP is already doing a good job in Punjab by raising the voice of people inside and outside the Vidhan Sabha. He said that the impact of Delhi result will be visible in all the upcoming elections in Punjab. “The divisive and religion based politics of BJP will get a befitting reply from the people of country in 2019 general elections.” said Khaira.
