Chandigarh, September 14: The Punjab government has made all-out preparations to prevent the pollution caused by stubble burning, under which awareness teams, vigilance teams, publicity campaigns and providing subsidies to farmers on agricultural implements etc. State Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal met with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to discuss the measures taken by the Punjab government to prevent stubble burning. Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that during the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has assured all kinds of cooperation to stop the pollution caused by paddy straw burning.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal sharing information after the meeting with Arvind Kejriwal said that although centre government has refused to help the farmers of the state to prevent stubble burning, but the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will make all efforts to aware farmers regarding the ill effects of stubble burning, besides this agricultural implements will also be provided at low prices.
Punjab Agriculture minister said that apart from Agriculture Department, Mandi Board, Pollution Control Board, various other departments of the Punjab Government will run various campaigns to prevent stubble burning.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has also appealed to the farmers to fully cooperate with the government to protect our land, air and water from pollution so that our future generations can enjoy a disease-free and clean environment.
