The Punjabi heartthrob Diljit Dosanjh has made his name in the Bollywood A-listers in no time. Right from his debut in 2016 with ‘Udta Punjab’, the singer-actor has been the talk of the town. In one of his recent interviews, Diljit reportedly said, “I don’t do many films in Bollywood because nothing substantial has been offered to me, I get offers but I feel even if I don’t play this role someone else will, it won’t make a difference. Even now my most favorite directors from Bollywood have offered me films which I cannot do because they want me to do it without the turban and that’s not possible. Turban is my identity, it’s my emotion.”

While promoting ‘Udta Punjab’, Diljit repeatedly quoted that people have been asking him to remove his turban as with the proper Sardar look, he might have less to zero chances of making it in Bollywood. However, such words never mattered to him, and he said that he would rather do selective roles than give up on his identity as a man with a turban.

Currently, the star is busy promoting his upcoming biopic ‘Soorma’. Based on the life of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh, the movie is about his journey of starting everything from the scratch after a misfortunate shooting incident.

Talking about the same, Diljit said, “I was reluctant (initially) because I never played hockey in my life. But I was convinced because of the story. I don’t think we have ever heard a story like this in India. A man who was in a wheelchair, he fought back became a captain and made a world record. I mean what kind of willpower one requires to do such a heroic thing. I don’t think a man like Sandeep will ever be born again. I am proud to play him onscreen.”
