Jalandhar, April 18 : Mahila Kisan Union President Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju strongly welcomed the Supreme Court decision for canceling bail of main accused Ashish Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri (UP) case and said the ruling right wing party, who allegedly exerted political influence to save its Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni vis-a-vis to secure the bail of his accused son, has failed miserably keeping in view the SC verdict due to which the victim families and witnesses could have faith for justice.

In a statement issued here on Monday, the Mahila Kisan Union President Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju alleged the “double engine” Yogi government in UP had deliberately not argued well on the bail plea of Ashish Mishra in a Lucknow court two months back. Due to such behavior the martyr and injured farmers of Lakhimpur Kheri case could not get justice timely. Despite the protection given by the court, witnesses were being threatened and eyewitness Hardeep Singh has also been attacked on the alleged provocation by BJP leaders.

In the light of the recent Supreme Court verdict the women farmer leader has demanded personal intervention of saffron-clad Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensue fair justice to the sufferer farmers who were brutally killed and injured under the SUV car of accused Ashish Mishra and punish all the culprits of this heinous crime. She demanded from Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Union Minister Ajay Mishra Tenni (father of the main accused Ashish Mishra), who is alleged to have conspired in this heinous murder case, should be immediately removed from the Union Cabinet.

Bibi Raju has appealed to the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha and all its affiliated farmer organizations to send a high level delegation of farmers to Lakhimpur Kheri to support and help the victims families and witnesses of this infamous case. She added that the farmers’ delegation should also have a meeting with UP Chief Minister in this regard and if needed, a ‘dharna’ should be organized there to get the fair justice for the victims and their families.
