The Punjabi singer and music producer Dr. Zeus is mostly associated with peppy and grooving songs. With tracks like ‘Woofer’, ‘Tha Tha’, ‘Nakhra Nawabi’, ‘Angreji Wali Madam’, the man has made both Indian and international audience shake a leg. However, in a recent exclusive interview with TimesOfIndia.com, the musical sensation revealed that he aspires to change the perception of the audience and thus, his next will be a Sufi EP with Sukhwinder Singh and Nooran Sisters.
Talking about the same, Dr. Zeus said, “In the Sufi EP people will feel a freshness, they will see what I can do melodically. It’s not just about peppy numbers; I connect more with melodic songs.”
He also added, “People haven’t seen me doing romantic songs or sad tracks, so they don’t know how well can I be in that genre. I feel I have a good knack of peppy songs and I know how to make it all bubbly, but I have an ear for melodic tracks. I want to show how versatile I am that’s why I have even shifted to Mumbai.”
Dr. Zeus’s love for melodic songs can be traced from his taste in music – the work of A.R. Rahman in ‘Taal’ and ‘Tujhe Bhula Diya’ from ‘Anjaana Anjaani’. “I would love to do a version of ‘Tujhe Bhula Diya’ in my own way, it will have a soulful feeling to it, but in a different way; in a refreshing way,” he concluded.
