Ferozepur, October 9: To the growing concern of Punjab Police, another drone has been re-spotted in villages near Hussainiwala Indo-Pak border.
As per sources, villagers spotted an object moving above their homes around 7 pm at Hazara Singh Wala and 10 pm at village Tendi Wala. Meanwhile, the Border Security Force on Tuesday seized two packets of heroin from the area of border area post.
However, during search operations BSF troops observed some suspicious movement along the zero line and sounded an alert. When the intruder did not pay any attention to the challenge, the BSF jawans opened fire. However, the Pakistani smuggler managed to escape taking advantage of the dark and paddy fields.
Later, during a search operation, BSF troops seized smuggled goods worth Rs 10 crore in international market. So far, the BSF has seized around 156 kg heroin during various operations along the Indo-Pak border in Punjab.
In the meantime, the BSF has started making people of the area more familiar with the incidents for alerting the police or BSF authorities if anything unusual is sighted near the border.
Spotting of drones in the border area villages has put the BSF, police and security agencies on alert and working on various theories and the involvement of notorious drug smugglers cannot be ruled out.
