Rana Gurjit’s son appears before Enforcement Directorate

Jalandhar, January 17: Rana Inder Partap Singh, son of Punjab Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate here on Wednesday in connection with a FEMA case. 

The minister’s son had been summoned by Deputy Director Rahul Sohu. Along with a friend, Inder Partap arrived in his Fortuner and entered the office at 12.35 pm. As the media kept questioning him, he did not respond.He will be questioned by Sohu and Assisting Inquiry Officer-cum-Enforcement Officer Priyanka Sharma.

Summons had been issued to him for allegedly raising around Rs 100 crore abroad by floating foreign shares, or GDRs (Global Depository Receipts), for one of the family-owned companies, Rana Sugars Ltd, allegedly without the mandatory permission of the Reserve Bank of India.
