Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab leader and MLA from Amritsar east Jeevan Jyot Kaur blamed the previous Congress and Akali governments for current power crisis in Punjab. She said that their lack of vision and self-serving decisions are costing the people of Punjab. But, Aam Aadmi Party government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is working tirelessly to improve this situation and as a result Ropar thermal plant’s unit, which was shut earlier, is now functioning and Talwandi thermal plant’s effected unit will be working from tomorrow morning.

In a statement issued from party headquarters on Thursday, AAP MLA said that CM Bhagwant Mann himself is monitoring the whole matter. She added that Aam Aadmi government in Punjab is committed to solve this issue as soon as possible and there is a team working to know all the problems pertaining to this sector so that this crisis caused by the anti-people decisions of previous governments can be solved for once and all. For the last 75 years previous governments of Congress and Akali Dal ruined the whole power system in Punjab and today power plants are in miserable state.

AAP government is constantly making efforts to make sure the adequate supply in Punjab during the paddy season. Punjab’s CM Bhagwant Mann and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO had meetings with Union Power Minister Raj Kumar Singh about the same. She said that solving this issue is their government’s priority and thermal plants will be revamped to ensure no shortage in the future.
