Five killed in road accidents across Abohar

Abohar July 20: Rajwinder Kaur (30) of Fazilka and her Ferozepur-based relative Tarsem Singh (35) died when the Swift Dzire car they were travelling in rammed into a Rajasthan Lok Parivahan Sewa bus on the Sriganganagar-Bikaner stretch of the national highway on Thursday.

Investigation Officer Vijender Sheela said the incident took place when the bus was trying to overtake a private bus. It collided head-on with the car. In another mishap near Hanumangarh, Preet Kaur (23), a school teacher in Saliwala village, died as the car she was driving hit a roadside tree near Chandara village after colliding with a tractor-trailer while preventing collision with a stray bull.

Veerpal Kaur (35) of Chak 3MJD village died on the spot and Pawan Kumar (22) of Amarpura village sustained injuries when their bike skidded in an attempt to overtake a tractor-trailer on the Nathwana road. Harnek Singh (33) died when a van reportedly hit his bike on Wednesday.
