Jalandhar, December 5: To ensure smooth, free and fair conduct of polls for the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar and four municipal committees in the district, the State Election Commission, Punjab, has appointed five observers for the polls in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said the State Election Commission had appointed the Managing Director of the Punjab State Ware Housing Corporation Dr Abhinav Trikha, Director Rural Development and Panchayat C Sibbin, Vikas Garg, Bhupinder Singh Rai and Rahul Gupta as observers for these polls.
To assist these officers in the smooth and fair conduct of the elections, the district administration had also appointed liaison officers with them.
The DC said the District Food and Civil Supply Controller Narinder Singh would be the liaison officer with Dr Abhinav Trikha, District Development and Panchayat Officer Iqbalpreet Singh would be the liaison officer with C Sibbin, Excise and Taxation Officer Navjor Bharti would be the liaison officer with Vikas Garg, District Manager Punjab Agro SS Randhawa would be the liaison officer with Bhupinder Singh Rai and District Manager Markfed Ramandeep Singh would be the liaison officer with Rahul Gupta.
