” Girls are making their presence felt in every sector now a days and carving out a niche for themselves besides crossing new milestones”. These views were expressed by the Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Forest Minister Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak while addressing a gathering during a function today at Guru Nanak University College in Narot Jaimal Singh.
On the occasion, the Minister lauded the management of the college for the fact that out of the students attaining education in the College, 70 percent comprise girls which is a symbol of new renaissance in the society.
Divulging more, the Minister said that all the issues being confronted by the college would be addressed on priority. He also assured to extend all possible assistance in constructing an auditorium in the college for holding functions. The Minister also reiterated that the ground of the college would be leveled so as to make it fit for carrying out sporting activities in order to enable the budding players to hone their skills and make the country proud in the sporting arena.
Earlier, the College Principal Dr. Arpana welcomed the Minister and introduced him to the college staff. Apprising the Minister about various courses being taught in the college, the Principal disclosed that the option of starting some new courses from the new session is also being explored.
The college Principal on the occasion honoured the Minister with a ‘Phulkari’ and a momento. The Minister also planted a sapling on the college campus.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Gurpreet Singh.
Among others present included Block President Mr. Kulwant Singh and the Principal, Maharana Pratap school Mr. Pal Singh.
