Glimpses of Guru Nanak Dev’s life through series of floating light and sound show

Chandigarh/Rupnagar, October 17: Rupnagar residents today witnessed glimpses of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s grandeur through floating light and sound show organized at river Sutlej to commemorate the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker K.P. Rana inaugurated the show. Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was also present.

K.P. Singh Rana said the light and sound show beautifully projected Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy in the form of his universal message to our society. Through the show the ethos of tolerance, peace, communal harmony, women empowerment and protection of natural resources were brought alive.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s efforts to promote social equality were also aptly showcased in letter and spirit. Such shows would be organized at various places in the state during the coming four months.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker further said that Guru Sahib has shown the path of social unity and he urged to the members of all the political parties to commemorate the Parkash Purab with unity. He said, ‘it is the matter of honor for us that we got the chance to celebrate the 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji.’ He said that Captain Amarinder Singh, CM Punjab, is personally monitoring the events being organized to commemorate the Parkash Purab.

Flowing through 10 districts of the state which includes Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Moga, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur. This show would also be organised on October 18 at Rupnagar at 7 pm and 8:15 pm.

Light and sound shows would be organized continuously for 9 days at Sultanpur Lodhi from November 4 to November 12. Floating shows would be organized in river Beas at village Terkiana, District Hoshiarpur, in river Satluj at village Talwandi of district Ludhiana and in river Beas at Gandhuwal of district Hoshiarpur on October 23 and 24.

In river Satluj at village Dgara of district Jalandhar on October 30 and 31. In river Beas at village kishanpura, district Gurdaspur on November 1 and 2 and in river Sutlej at Chhak Bahmania village district Moga on November 3 and 04.

Similarly, in River Beas at village Sri Hargobindpur of district Gurdaspur on November 5 and 6, in river Satluj at Village Ismailpur District Jalandhar on November 7 and 8, in river Beas at Mundkulla village, Kapurthala district on November 10 and 11 and at village Budha Theh of district Amritsar on November 14, 15 and 16.

This show would be also organised in Sukhna Lake of Chandigarh on November 18 and 19, in river Beas at Village Gagrrewal on November 22 and 23 and Dhunda village of District Tarn Tarn on November 26 and 27 and in Hussainiwala lake of river Satluj in district Ferozepur on Nov. 29 and 30.
