Chandigarh, 7th August:
On the direction of Chief Minister, Punjab, the Finance Department has released Rs.100 Crore under AB- Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana. This was disclosed here today by a spokesperson of the Government. He further elaborated that out of total outstanding of Rs. 216 Crore, Department of Health & FW, Punjab has released Rs. 85 Crore to 920 Government and private empanelled hospitals including PGI, Chandigarh, GMCH 32, Chandigarh etc. on 6th August 2022. With this 60% of the dues of Government hospitals has been cleared. The remaining dues of all the hospitals will also be cleared shortly, he told.
The Finance Department while releasing this amount has also advised that in case any irregularity is noticed regarding termination of the earlier Insurance contract, then appropriate action against responsible persons should be taken by the Administrative Department. Finance Department also directed that for the claims which have already been issued, audit shall be conducted by the internal audit wing of Finance Department, which will include claims of all Private hospitals.
