Chandigarh, January 16: The Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial Bhavan Society organised a function to celebrate 121st Birthday of the martyr at Sector 44C here today.
The Chief Guests on the occasion, Cabinet Ministers Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Balbir Singh Sidhu paying tributes to the great martyr said that Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial Bhavan Society has done a great job by constructing a Shaheed Udham Singh Bhawan in his memory.
They said that the society’s initiative to organise various activities every year at the Bhawan in the memory of Shaheed Udham Singh would be a unique and wonderful effort to keep his memory alive.
Especially to conduct Youth competitions on the life of Shaheed Udham Singh would not only enlighten them about the life and the role of great national heroes but also inculcate patriotic sprit in them.
The Cabinet Minister Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa announced Rs 5 lakh grant and Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu Rs 2 lac as assistance to the Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial Bhavan Society from their discretionary quota of Funds.
Former Registrar of Baba Farid Medical University, Dr. Pyara Lal Garg, Chairman of the Society Jarnail Singh, Balwinder Singh, Mr. Prem Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Gurcharan Singh also presented their views on the occasion.
Free medical camp under the guidance of Dr. Gursharan Singh was also orgainsed on the occasion and free medical tests were done by Satyam Lab.
