Films based on the real life heroes and events have become the most told stories of 2018. With Subedar Joginder Singh and Sajjan Singh Rangroot already claiming box office acclaim as well as money and Harjeeta and Soorma in pipeline, this year sure looks like the season of biopics. Filmmakers are paying keen attention to every detail and are trying their best to stay true and authentic to the history and lives. Not only the story, but special emphasis is also being given on the songs of such movies. Harjeeta’s newly released title track ‘Dekhi Chal’ is one such example.

‘Dekhi Chal’ is a power-packed number sung perfectly in the voice of Punjab’s pride Daler Mehndi. The words that describe Harjeeta’s spirit aptly are written by Kaptaan. However, what truly stands out is the pumping music which is directed by The Boss. The entire package is a boost of energy through and through.

The track also marks The Boss composing a filmy song for the first time. Talking about ‘Dekhi Chal’, The Boss said, “Not only the song is my debut in the film industry, this was also the first time I was meeting Daler (Mehndi) Bhaji. I have looked up to him as an inspiration and it was an overwhelming experience for me. He is such a humble person, that you won’t find even a trace of stardom around him. ‘Dekhi Chal’ is a collaborative effort of a team that understands how proud Harjeet has made us, representing India at an international platform. Kaptaan’s words, Daler Mehndi’s resounding voice gave me the motivation to create a song that can live up to Harjeeta’s stature.  I am sure it will resonate with the film’s ethos and people will love my work.”

The Boss has given music for Punjabi singers like Ninja, Gitaz Bindrakhia, Jordan Sandhu, Rico and Romeo and has collaborated with labels like White Hill Music, Malwa Records, T.O.B. Gang et al. Harjeeta’s title track released under Lokdhun Punjabi banner.
