Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.
Khattar announced on Twitter that his tests came back positive.
“I was tested for Novel Corona Virus today. My test report has returned positive,” he said in a tweet. “I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately.”
The development comes hours after Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta tested positive. Haryana Assembly is scheduled to convene for Monsoon Session on August 26. Two MLAs have also tested positive, as did Gupta’s political secretary, his nephew wand the six Assembly staff.
Khattar’s earlier test report came negative for COVID-19 on Thursday, two days after he had attended the meeting with Shekhawat over the Sutlej Yamuna Link canal issue in New Delhi.
Last week, the Speaker had decided that only those who test negative for coronavirus would be allowed to attend the session. With agencies
