Chandigarh, December 6: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice to the UT Chandigarh and Punjab and Haryana governments after taking suo motu cognizance of the news report on the safety of women riders not wearing helmets.
The high court has asked governments to furnish their response on the issue by January 11.
The notice was issued after a report carried in The Tribune was brought to the high court notice.
The report was on a girl who sustained injuries in a road accident.
