Virbhadra Singh DA case hearing adjourned to 30th November

New Delhi, October 31: The special CBI court adjourned the case of Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on unfair assets matter today.

According to reports earlier, the special court handed over the case to the Special Bureau of Investigation to investigate certain documents linked to Virbhadra Singh connection. CM Virbhadhra Singh allegedly accumulated assets of around ₹10 crore, that were found to be excessive calculating his total income during his tenure as the Union Minister.

According to the sources, the decision of the court, came after the Virbhadra and his wife Pratibha Singh told the court that they have not received various documents that filed along with charge sheet. Although on May 22, CM Virbhadra and other accused in the case of disproportionate of assets. This case moved to the Special court which issued a notice to a CBI to reply on the plea of bail of all the accused including Virbhadra and his wife.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was today granted exemption from personal appearance for the day by a Delhi court in connection with a Rs 10 crore disproportionate assets case against him.

Special Judge Virender Kumar Goyal also granted the relief to Singh’s wife Pratibha Singh, a co-accused in the case. The CBI, meanwhile, opposed Singhs’ application seeking permanent exemption from personal appearance, saying there was no such provision in law. 

On May 29, the court has granted bail to all the accused including the HP Chief Minister and his wife in the matter. And the court has restricted the movement of Virbhadra as they asked him to furnish Rs 1 lakh personal bond and surety of the same amount. And advised him not to leave the country without court permission. Now Today the CBI hear the case on unfair assets with the 500-page charge sheet that accumulates Rs 10 crore and adjourns it to 30th November.
