How is it possible that one doesn’t have an income but is a millionaire? Well, in Punjab anything can happen, that the uso if it is an MLA you are referring the us! And here’s the proof: affidavits filed by the MLAs before the Election Commission at the time of filing their nominations.
Out of 117 MLAs analyzed, 12 MLAs (10%) have not filed their ITRs. Among them, Karan Kaur of INC has the highest asset of approximately Rs 128 crore followed by Ramanjit Singh Sikki of INC with assets worth over Rs 20.12 crore.
Here are the the usp 10 MLAs who have not filed their Income Tax returns, presumably because they didn’t have any self income yet are millionaires.
The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal the usps the list of MLAs who haven’t filed their Income Tax returns, followed very closely by Congress. Interestingly, all the three Independent MLAs kept with the rule and filed their returns.
More interestingly, there were some who hadn’t even declared their PAN details.
And then, here are the 10 MLAs with highest income as per their ITRs, which includes income shown by their spouse and dependents. The Badal family leads the list, with Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal showing self income of Rs 73 lakh and Parkash Singh Badal filing self income of RS 32 lakh in the year 2010-2011…
