Rs. 1.14 crore looted from bank’s cash van in Punjab

Jalandhar, November 10, 2017: In a daring daylight incident, three unidentified motorcycle-borne armed men looted Rs 1.14 crore from the cash van of HDFC bank near Bhogpur in Jalandhar district on Friday.

The incident took place in the afternoon as the cash van carrying cash neared Bhogpur. The van that had left Jalandhar with Rs 2 crore meant for putting in different ATMs of the bank, was heading to Bhogpur for the purpose.

The robbers forced the driver to stop the van and threatened the two bank employees and two security guards at gun-point not to raise alarm. They fled from the spot after looting the cash.

The police cordoned off the entire area and launched an intensive manhunt to nab the robbers.
