Jalandhar, June 13: The city police registered a case against a Bhai Ditt Singh Nagar resident Dinesh Kumar, 40, for a fake robbery complaint.

The police officials told that Dinesh had complained that armed men robbed him of Rs 15 lakh near Ikehri Puli after beating him when he was going home on Activa scooter late Friday night. Following the incident, a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered based on his complaint.

In a press conference on Sunday, the cops claimed that during investigation it was found that no robbery incident happened at the place on the said night and Dinesh had given false information regarding the incident. As per police officials the man’s version did not corroborate with the CCTV footage of the place.

After robbery Dinesh had claimed that he had taken money from Ajay Bhandari, who in turn, told police that he was not in the town at the time of the robbery.

The officials added that a fresh case for giving false information will be registered against Dinesh. During the conference, Dinesh blasted over the cops and alleged that he was being framed by the police officials.
