New Delhi, March 3: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday (March 3) met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament.
“Perpetrators of the Delhi violence should be handed out strictest possible punishment,” the Delhi CM said after meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the first since he took over the post for the third time.
The meeting started in the Prime Minister’s room in the Parliament premises at 11 am and came a day after Delhi Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal met PM and briefed him about the situation on Delhi riots.
Speaking about his meeting with the Prime Minister, Kejriwal stated, “I told him that whoever is found guilty for Delhi violence should be given strictest punishment. Also, we discussed that we have to work together against Coronavirus.”
“Delhi Police acted in a swift manner to control the situation when rumours were spread on Sunday night. Had the police acted with the same efficiency on Monday and Tuesday last week when riots were confined in a district, so many lives could have been saved,” he said.
Later at a press conference, elaborating about the meeting, Kejriwal said that he had praised the state police for the commendable work done on Sunday (March 1) evening in preventing rumours in various areas of Delhi.
