Kharar, June 3: A group of farmers forcibly entered the premises of vegetable sellers on the Kharar-Landran Road on Sunday.
Protesting farmers threw their vegetable and fruit stocks on the road to support their ongoing nationwide stir.
The costermongers blocked the Kharar-Landran Road which is commuted by the heavy traffic entering Punjab. Interestingly, the incident happened near the City Police Station.
An eyewitness said at about 10 am nearly 20 farmers of came to the old vegetable market and started throwing vegetables.
The angry farmers also went to the local vegetable market and forcibly closed the shops there.
Fumed over the action, shopkeepers blocked the traffic on the Landran road against the protest launched by the farmers and asked the city police to take an appropriate action.
However, Kharar SHO Kanwaljit Singh reached the spot and said the law would take its own course and persuaded the shopkeepers to lift the road blockade.
Meanwhile, the shopkeepers lifted the dharna and continued the sale of vegetables under the police protection.
