Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Kultar Singh Sandhwan has congrulated to People of the state on the 115th birth anniversary of Indian freedom fighter and revolutionary leader Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Mr. Sandhwan said that Bhagat Singh’s name is synonymous with the revolutionary movement that highly contributed to India’s freedom. Shaheed Bhagat Singh will always be remembered for his gusto and courage to stand up against British rule. He also gave a new direction to the Indian freedom struggle through his ideas and supreme sacrifice.
Mr. Sandhwan said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life for the country along with his close associates Rajguru and Sukhdev, when he was just 23 years old..
When Bhagat Singh was in jail, he had fasted for so many days. In the jail, he used to complete his daily tasks like reading and writing every day. The popular patriotic slogan ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ was coined by Bhagat Singh, which later became the freedom movement’s calling. Mr. Sandhwan said that we should take motivation from the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
