Gurdaspur, April 12: Former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) minister Sucha Singh Langah, who is out on bail in a rape case, has claimed that he apprehends an attack by Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Congress MLA from Dera Baba Nanak.
He has written to the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, DGP Suresh Arora and Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu.
Langah, a former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member, has been accusing Randhawa of framing him in the rape case. He had lost to the Congress leader from the Dera Baba Nanak seat in the 2012 and 2017 Assembly elections.
The DC confirmed the receipt of Langah’s letter, in which the latter claimed that he was attacked by Satkar Committee members when he was sitting in a police Gypsy after being brought to a local court recently.
Langah alleged that the conspiracy to eliminate him was hatched at Randhawa’s insistence.
Randhawa said, “Langah’s move is a ploy to get security cover. I request the CM to reopen tainted SP Salwinder Singh’s case so that his links with Langah can be probed.”
