Ludhiana DC cancels license of Immigration Firm with Red Entry on all government websites

Moga, December 25: Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal has cancelled the license number 245/MA dated May 8, 2018 of renowned immigration consultant firm M/S Overseas Education & Career Consultants India Pvt Ltd (OECC) after they were found to be committing fraud with people on the pretext of sending them abroad. The office of this company is situated at SCO 5, fourth floor, Feroze Gandhi Market, Ludhiana.

This firm has been found guilty of violating sub rule (4) of rule 4 of Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Rules 2013.

Besides this, the Deputy Commissioner has written to all other Deputy Commissioners of state to mention name of this company in red colour on all government websites. This entry has already been made on the official website of district Ludhiana.

While providing information in this regard, Pradeep Kumar Agrawal stated that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Moga had also written against M/S Overseas Education & Career Consultants India Pvt Ltd (OECC) to register an FIR under section 420 and 120 of IPC and also to cancel their license.

Similarly, on the complaint of one Gurinder Singh son of Surjit Singh, resident of village Kothe Baggu, Tehsil Jagraon, Deputy Commissioner Moga had also conducted an inquiry and had recommended cancellation of license and action against company officials Sukhdev Singh and others on August 6, 2019.

During the inquiry, the Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana found that they came to know that a case was also registered against the company in Jalandhar. The Deputy Commissioner had issued a show cause notice to the company on August 28, 2019, to which no reply was filed by the company. When the second notice was issued, although the firm filed a reply, but they failed to submit any proof in their support. Taking strict action in this regard, the license of the company was cancelled.

Agrawal has appealed to the people to not fall prey to such companies/agents and check the list of approved agencies on government website before taking any decision.
