Meet Hayer personally congratulates Junior Asian Volleyball Championship runner-up Joshnoor Dhindsa

Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Thursday personally congratulated Joshnoor Dhindsa, who won silver medal in the recently concluded Junior Asian Volleyball Championship in Bahrain.

Sports Minister while meeting Joshnoor Dhindsa at his residence at Chandigarh, said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is making continuous efforts to make Punjab the leading state of the country in terms of sports. Describing budding players like Joshnoor are the future of the state, the Minister said that the sports department will provide all kinds of support to this player to move forward. He said that Joshnoor’s achievement will be an inspiration for younger players. He also wished him well for the future.

Meet Hayer also said that the sports department is also making a new sports policy under which every aspect related to the promotion of talented players, reward for senior players and employment of players will be covered. He said that ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Deya’ is a beginning and no stone will be left unturned to create a sports-friendly environment in the state.

It may be mentioned that India has won a medal in the Junior Asian Volleyball Championship after 28 years. The key player of the team is Joshnoor Dhindsa from Mansa who is a BA Part II student at Public College Samana. Joshnoor has also represented India in the Senior Asia Cup before this. On this occasion, Meet Hayer congratulated Joshnoor’s father Sukhwinder Singh Dhindsa, his coach Chaman Singh and Principal Public College Samana Dr. Jitendra Dev.
