Sangrur, April 27
During the ongoing procurement of wheat in the mandis of the district till April 26, l9 lakh 45 thousand 344 metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in different mandis out of which 9 lakh 29 thousand 900 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by various procurement agencies.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir said that 4. 2 lakhs MT by Pungrain, 2. 3 lakhs MT by Markfed, 2. 3 lakhs MT by PUNSUP and 1 lakh 8 thousand 365 MT by Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and FCI has procured 11322 metric tonnes of wheat. He said that 6 lakh 795 metric tonnes of wheat has been lifted and out of these Rs 1520 crore 99 lakh has been paid to the farmers.
Mr. Ramvir said that farmers will not face any problem during on going procurement season. He said that as per the orders of the state government, instructions have been given to make timely payment to the farmers.
