National Sports Day: AAP MP Dr Sandeep Pathak congratulates players from Punjab who won medals at Birmingham Commonwealth Games

On the occasion of National Sports Day and Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary, Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MP Rajya Sabha Dr Sandeep Pathak on Monday congratulated 17 players from Punjab who won medals at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, by writing individual letters of appreciation to them.
The MP wrote letters to men’s hockey players Manpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Hardik Singh, Varun Kumar, Krishan Pathak, Shamsher Singh, Jasmanpreet Singh and Jugraj Singh for winning silver medal and women hockey player Gurjit Kaur for clinching bronze medal in the recently held CWC games in Birmingham.
The MP also wrote letters to women Indian cricketer captain Harmanpreet Kaur, for winning silver medal; Weightlifters Vikas Thakur, Lovepreet Singh and Gurdeep Singh and Harjinder Kaur for bronze medals.
“I write this message with utmost admiration for your fantastic achievement at the Commonwealth Games. Many many congratulations on your success and all the well deserved laurels that are coming your way.”
He said that with your success, you have made everyone around you, your family, friends, city, state, and country proud. Being a sportsperson from the state of Punjab, my special congratulations to you as a representative from Punjab.
“I also send my special congratulations, and indeed thanks, to the incredible personal support system that has enabled your success. Behind the victory of the players, there are persons who stand by them in all moments and forge the skills of the player. To your parents, coaches, and family, I salute them for this service to the nation.”
“I am sure there are many successes ahead of you. I am certain that you will keep the Indian flag flying high in the days and years to come. I assure you of my personal support in all your future endeavours,” he wrote in his letter to players.
A tweet from the MP said, “On National Sports Day and Major Dhyan Chand ji’s birth anniversary, I have written a letter to all the medal winners of Punjab at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. You are all the pride of India. We are proud of all the players. In the future too, you will win more medals and keep the country’s name illuminated all over the world.”
