New guidelines issued; cinemas, theatres, multiplexes permitted to open with up to 50% capacity

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday issued new guidelines for re-opening of activities as it gives more flexibility to states for opening of schools and activities outside containment zones.

Cinemas, theatres, multiplexes will be permitted to open with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity from October 15, MHA said.

Swimming pools being used for training of sportspersons will be permitted to open from October 15.

Business to Business (B2B) exhibitions will be permitted to open from October 15, for which SOP will be issued by the Department of Commerce, MHA announced.

Entertainment parks and similar places will be permitted to open from October 15, for which SOP will be issued by Ministry of Health, MHA said.

International air travel, except those permitted by MHA, continues to remain shut.

In these guidelines, which will come into effect from October 1, 2020, the process of re-opening of activities has been extended further.
