NIIFT Jalandhar inks MoU with NID Ahmedabad

CHANDIGARH, AUGUST 19: To play a catalytic role in orienting education, research and development in Design , Lifestyle and Fashion Industry, Manufacturing Technologies and latest theories of Management Practices, NIIFT Jalandhar has signed an MOU with National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.

Disclosing this, the spokesperson of the Industries Department said that the NIIFT and NID shall work together to devise a broad framework of the courses to be offered as well as advise on the requirement of physical infrastructure, curriculum, pedagogy and human resources to successfully run the proposed activities and educational programmes at NIIFT Jalandhar Centre.

The prime objective of the MoU is to kick-start the functioning of NIIFT Jalandhar Center by preparing a “Feasibility Report and Road Map”, from the perspective of identifying the opportunities and scoping the Design Education Programmes which could help the priority sectors of the industry in Punjab and this region.

NIIFT is ready with its state-of-the-art campus at Jalandhar and has got I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University’s affiliation for the Academic Session 2021-22. The NIIFT Jalandhar Campus built and designed in the shape of a modern “Fashion Shoe” truly reflects the influences, inspirations, innovation and importance of “Design” and “Design Education”. The Campus boasts of being equipped with the latest infrastructure, machinery, technology and labs.

This research and collaboration will help in the evolution of “Design Education” as per the growing needs and requirements of the industry. The vision behind setting up of this fantastic state of the art institute is to impart the best in Skill, Technology and Management Education, the spokesperson added.

This research report will articulate the framework for institutional structure, growth plan and activities and it’s abstracts can be implemented at NIIFT’s Mohali and Ludhiana centres also.
