Chandigarh, May 16: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab president and MP Bhagwant Mann while stating on the demand of evidence by Sukhbir Badal, said that his questions are enough of evidence in itself.
Taking a dig at Sukhbir Badal, Mann said, the people of Punjab and the entire Sangat knows who was in the government in Punjab in 2015 when desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib had taken place.
He asked that when the sangat was peacefully protesting at Behbal Kalan-Kotkapura against the Bargari sacrilege, demanding arrest of the culprits; on whose orders did the indiscriminate firing by the police took place in which two Sikh youths were killed and dozens were injured.
“Will Sukhbir Badal tell that he was not the then Deputy Chief Minister as well as Home Minister? Won’t the Home Minister own any responsibility for the indiscriminate firing by the unidentified police?” said Mann.
Further accusing the Badals, he asked, didn’t then Akali MLA Mantar Brar talk to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister and issue an unsolicited order to SDM Vijay Syal that the situation would get out of hand if the action was not taken? Mann said, can Sukhbir Singh Badal as the then Home Minister tell that on whose orders, 182 police officers and personnel were sent to Kotkapura overnight in order to suppress the protests of Sangat after Bargari sacrilege.
The AAP leader said that Sukhbir Badal needs to tell who was incharge of the police force that acted like General O’Dwyer against the sangat and how did CCTV footage of Kotkapura firing disappear.
“Will Sukhbir Badal explain why and how the then DGP Sumedh Saini and DIG Paramraj Singh Umranangal became the apple of his eye?,” he added. Bhagwant Mann said that the one asking for evidence from him today; Sukhbir Badal as a Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, was busy hiding the evidence of Bargari and Behbal Kalan-Kotkapura incidents for two years but there is no shortage of evidence against those effacing them.
Mann said that instead of delivering justice after 2017, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh also went astray to save the Badals and hang justice; the result of which is before all today.
Slamming Captain Amarinder and the Badals, he said can Sukhbir Badal explain as to what deal was settled with Captain Amarinder Singh under the ‘Dubai Agreement’ in the presence of Majithia family and a big businessman.
”Will Sukhbir Badal explain why the Badal family and the royal family have remained silent about my repeated statements on the ‘Dubai Accord’?” said Mann, adding that all these questions were evidence but more evidence will be produced soon; answers of which will not be there with the Badal family, Captain government or the Congress.
