Nuclear research scholar of World University presents scientific papers in USA

Chandigarh, November 30: Research scholar of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, Manpreet Kaur was selected and invited to present her research at different universities and scientific institutions of United States of America during November 11-27, 2017.

She is an integral part of the Nuclear Physics laboratory of the University and have been carrying out her doctorate research work under the supervision of Dr. Bir Bikram Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare and Faculty of the Department of Physics.

Dr. Singh shared that during the tour Manpreet Kaur interacted with the number of eminent researchers and scholars at the Mississippi State University, International Symposium “50 Years of Beam – Exploring the Nuclear Frontier”, Cyclotron Institute, Texas A & M University, College and Commerce Stations, Texas. He said that it is a moment of great pride and honour that she represented the country and the University at the global level.

This scientific tour was immensely beneficial for her as not only she got first hand global exposure but has also got aware about the latest developments in the field of nuclear physics. She was awarded an international travel scholarship, covering the air fare and visa fee, for the purpose, by the Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi and got selected by a committee of Indian Scientific Experts, from large number of applicants across the country.

Moreover, Dr. Singh told that his research group was highly grateful to Dr. Debisree, Dr. Shubchintak, Professors of Nuclear Physics Dr. Rupak Gautam, Prof. Anatoli Afanasjev and Dr. Carlos Bertulani for their kind hospitality and support during the scientific tour of Manpreet Kaur.

Head of the Department of Physics, Dr. Tejbir Singh congratulated the researcher and said that the department is committed to the cause of promoting research in the new and emerging fields of physics and allied subjects. Dean Research, Dr. R.K. Sharma and Registrar, Dr.Pritpal Singh also lauded the research group for their achievement.

Dr. Pritpal Singh said that the primary function of any University is promotion of research and our University provides world class research facilities to its researchers and students so that they are able to enter new horizons in the related field of academia.
