Pargat Singh directs four departments to form expert committees

The School Education, Higher Education, Sports and NRI Affairs Minister Pargat Singh on Monday directed the above said four departments to form committees of experts. Experts in their respective fields will give advice to ensure smooth functioning of the departments as per the ground realities. This decision was taken by the Minister in a meeting with top officials of these departments.

In a press communiqué issued after the meeting, Pargat Singh said that a committee of educationists and teachers has been constituted for the School Education department, prominent writers along with educationists for the Higher Education and Languages department, renowned sportspersons for the Sports department and top notch NRIs for the NRI Affairs department.

The Minister further said that the eminent professionals would be included in these committees of advisors who while specializing in their respective fields, also have personal experience and vision as well as action plan to take these fields forward. The far-sightedness and experience of the experts will be effectively utilized and the departments will be run in line with the opinion of the experts.

During the meeting, the Education and Sports Minister told the officials that the people of the state especially the youth have high expectations from the state government and enormous hard work has to be done to live up to their expectations. He also added that since the functions of all the departments are interconnected, the coordination should be further improved so that the schemes could be implemented at the grass root level.

Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Secretary, School Education and Sports & Youth Services Ajoy Sharma, Secretary, Higher Education & Languages and NRI Affairs Krishan Kumar, Director Sports DPS Kharbanda, DPI (Colleges) Paramjit Singh and DPI (School Education) Sukhjit Pal Singh.
