PM Modi promises development in Telangana

Date:

Hyderabad, July 3

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the people of Telangana and workers of the BJP to do their best to make India “Shrestha” (great).

Seeking inclusion of all, as against the personal progress of a few, the Prime Minister asked people to reject dynastic politics and dynastic political parties.

Recalling the historical greatness of the region where everyone’s interest was prime, he asked people to support the BJP in bringing about a change in the life of one and all.

Speaking at a public rally at the Parade Ground here, he said the benefits of development and schemes launched by the government must flow to all; this is what we owe to the country and its people, irrespective of who or where they are. “Ek Bharat” (United India) is an obligation that the BJP is working upon to build a “Shreshtha Bharat”. Referring to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, where the BJP got success, the prime minister said the BJP received tremendous love and affection, which is apparent from the support.

Modi asked BJP workers to undertake a ‘Sneh Yatra’ and reach out to all sections of society to ensure the development of all from the ground upwards. He announced setting up a mega textile park in Telangana that will benefit the state’s farmers, besides employing many youths.

The prime minister recalled the various schemes implemented to benefit women in the country. With specific attention to women, he referred to the financial benefits given to women in the country and highlighted how they benefitted from the same. This was to highlight central government schemes for women, especially to contrast with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) scheme that has given Rs ten lakh to many Dalit women in Telangana to set up enterprises.

Modi also pointed out the various central projects that had been implemented in the state of Telangana. After stating his party’s achievements, the prime minister hit back at opposition parties for questioning the BJP’s democratic credentials and asked what is the status of democracy within their organisations.

He said the development of Telangana has to be boosted further, and everyone has to be benefitted from the development of the states. The prime minister talked about how the state would be developed further when a strong BJP government is formed in the state after the next state assembly elections. He avoided direct reference to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), unlike other senior BJP leaders who criticised KCR and termed him corrupt and promoting corruption.

He refused to get entangled in questions on alleged discrimination against Telangana, raised by the Telangana Chief Minister and other TRS leaders.
