Chandigarh, February 24:

Accusing opposition of running slanderous campaigns and misleading people to tarnish clean image of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, the Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Friday reiterated that the law and order situation is intact in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Addressing the media persons here, the Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats, Farmers’ Welfare & Agriculture and NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that no one will be allowed to disturb the hard-earned peace of Punjab and all anti-social elements will be dealt with iron hand.

Praising Punjab police for handling the situation prudently during the violent protest at Ajnala yesterday, the Cabinet Minister said that he salutes the Punjab police personnel for successfully dealing with the law and order situation in Ajnala. He unequivocally said that none of the culprits responsible for this unfortunate incident should be spared and Punjab police is competent to deal with anyone breaking the law in the strictest possible manner.

Stressing that the Mann government will not tolerate the disrespect of Guru Granth Sahib at any cost, Dhaliwal said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is supreme for everyone and it should not be used as a shield for holding protests.

He said that opposition is trying to misleading people of Punjab with their bogus claims on the law and order situation and crime rate is dwindling in Punjab under the dynamic leadership of CM Mann as compared to previous years.

Dhaliwal said that people of Punjab have full faith in the CM Bhagwant Mann and the government under his leadership is capable to deal with all miscreants who attempt to spoil peace and harmony of the state. He said that Punjabis are safe under the regime of AAP government.
