PSPCL awarded as top Performer among all DISCOM’s for Energy Conservation measures under PAT program

Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. has been awarded as top performer among all DISCOM’s PAN India for Energy Conservation measures under PAT (Perform, Achieve and Trade) program of Ministry of Power GOI. The award ceremony was attended by Er. H.L. Goyal Chief Engineer Energy Audit and Enforcement, on behalf of PSPCL during celebration of 21st foundation ceremony of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) held at New Delhi on March 1st,2023.

Punjab Power Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that 80,686 nos Energy saving certificates (ESCerts) were issued to PSPCL during PAT cycle-II by Ministry of Power. He also shared that the value of each ESCert is around Rs.1,840 thus total value of Rs 14.84 Crore and these can be traded at Power Exchanges.

Power Minister further said that the Top performer award and letter of appreciation was given to PSPCL by Sh. R .K. Singh Cabinet Minister of Power, Government of India during National Function at Delhi.

The Power Minister also added that PAT is a flagship scheme under the National Mission on Enhanced efficiency. Under the PAT scheme Carbon Emission targets are given to entities. Whosoever achieve their targets and get certified during mandatory energy audits are given energy saving certificates which are tradeable at Power Exchanges.
