Chandigarh, February 5:
To implement Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana at grass root level to empower women-headed households, the Punjab Government has constituted various committees ranging from state to district.
According to the official spokesperson of the Social Security, Women and Child Development department, the state government has formed State level Steering Committee (SLSC), Planning and Monitoring Committee (PMC) and District Level Steering Committee (DLSC)” for the smooth implementation.
He said that SLSC would work under the Chairpersonship of Chief Secretary, while Financial Commissioner, Rural Development & Panchayats and Principal Secretaries of Finance, Social Justice Empowerment & Minorities, Planning, Local Government, Health & Family Welfare, Technical Education & Industrial Training would be the members and Principal Secretary, Social Security and Women & Child Development will work as Member Secretary of the SLSC.
Similarly, the Planning and Monitoring Committee’s chairperson would be Principal Secretary, Social Security and Women and Child Development. He informed that the PMC would have 10 members, which included; Administrative Secretaries (or their representatives not below the rank of Special Secretary) Finance, Planning, Social Justice Empowerment & Minorities, Labour, Local Government, Health & Family Welfare, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Higher Education, School Education department and Financial Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayats or his representative not below the rank of Special Secretary. Likewise, Director, Social Security and Women & Child Development will work as Member Secretary.
The Spokesperson said that the each district would form District Level Steering Committee (DLSC) in which concerned Deputy Commissioner will act as chairperson, while Additional Deputy Commissioner (D), Commissioner Corporation, Civil Surgeon, District Education Officer, District Development & Panchayat Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Justice & Empowerment Officer, two representatives from Civil Society Organisations/NGOS as members. Apart from this, District Programme Officer would work as Member Convener of the DLSC.
He said that notifications in this regard have already been issued.
