Punjab Government seeks applications from NGOS to Spur Welfare schemes for elderly: Dr. Baljit Kaur

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government is making continuous efforts for the welfare of senior citizens for which it extends help to NGOs, organizations/trusts/Red cross societies to implement schemes run by the government for senior citizens. The government is seeking applications from interested institutions by September 25 to give financial assistance.

Giving this information the minister for Social Security and Women and Child Development Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the Punjab government has plan to take help of these NGOs in implementation of welfare schemes of the elderly in lieu of which government provide them funds.

She said that Govt is going to set up old age homes in Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Patiala, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and S.A.S Nagar, Malerkotla.In this regard Institutions,who can open/run such old age homes for minimum 25 senior citizens or 50,100,150 senior citizens in 12 months, can give applications for financial assistance.

For applying for grant, Institutions should have own building and registration under Punjab Management Scheme.

Organizations can contact with office of District Social Security Officer or download from https://tinyurl.com/fcaeb22w. Applications for the current financial year 2022-23 should be completed and sent to the office of the concerned District Social Security Officer by September 25, 2022.
