Punjab Govt suspends two engineers in the case of substandard work by ignoring the govt rules while repairing Jakarmajra roads

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s state government is committed to uplift the standard of living of the people and provide a corruption-free administration. It is to be mentioned that a few days ago the Minister of Tourism and Culture Affairs, Investment Promotion, Labour and Grievance Redressal Ms Anmol Gagan Mann took immediate action on the complaints of the people on the issue of poor standard roads being built at village Jakarmajra in constituency of Kharar of District SAS Nagar. She went to the spot and investigated the road. In the meantime, she found that while repairing the road, poor quality work was being carried out by disregarding the government standards.

Taking strict action on this serious situation, Public Works Minister of Punjab Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO directed to suspend the two Assistant Engineers of the Public Works Department from government service with immediate effect in the case of constructing a substandard road of Jakarmajra.. This suspension has been done under Rule 4 of the Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970.

Giving information in this regard, the Cabinet Minister said that Mahesh Kumar Sharma and Rajesh Kaura, Assistant Engineers of the Public Works Department, during the special repair of the roads, neglected the prescribed standards in the work of the link road from Tiur to Jakar Majra. She said that Punjab government will not tolerate any kind of corruption.

She emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government will provide a corruption-free, transparent administration to the people of Punjab and strict action will be taken against the officials and employees involved in corrupt activities and negligence in duty.
