CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 20 :
Punjab Food Supplies Minister Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu has said that corrupt practices in ongoing paddy procurement and lifting would not be tolerated and those found indulged in such malpractice would also not be spared.
Referring to arrest of Punjab State Warehouse Corporation’s inspector Munish Kumar, who caught red handed by the Vigilance Bureau on complaint of Patiala resident John Gupta, the Minister said that strict action would be initiated, if any officer/official found indulged in corrupt practices during procurement and lifting of paddy. He directed all the officers/officials to ensure compliance of stipulated milling norms. He said that there should be no complaint of any inconvenience to farmers and arthiyas by anyone. The Minister also instructed the Vigilance wing of the Food Supplies Department to further speed up the pace of checking to keep a close tab on illegal practices, if any.
