Chandigarh, December 18:
With the sincere efforts of Punjab Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa, the Hoshiarpur-Delhi passenger train is expected to run up to Mathura-Vrindavan. In this regard, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has sought a detailed report from the concerned authorities.
Considering the demands of the people of Doaba region, Punjab Revenue and Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa had written a letter to the Union Railway Minister to run the Hoshiarpur-Delhi passenger train to Mathura-Vrindavan. In the reply letter, the Union Railway Minister informed Minister Jimpa that he has asked the concerned officials to explore the possibilities of this demand.
Pertinently, Jimpa had written that Hoshiarpur railway station is an important railway station of Doaba. Many pilgrims go through Hoshiarpur to visit Mata Chintapurni ji, Mata Jawala ji, Mata Kangra Devi ji, Mata Chamunda Devi ji, Mata Bagulamukhi ji and Baba Balak Nath ji. To go to Dharamshala and McLeodganj, famous tourist cities of North India, one has to go through Hoshiarpur, he added.
He said that pilgrims from Hoshiarpur and Doaba region have to board other transportation after reaching New Delhi to go to Mathura-Vrindavan. Jimpa had demanded that the Hoshiarpur-Delhi passenger train should be run to Mathura-Vrindavan considering the plight of the pilgrims and the importance of Hoshiarpur railway station.
He expressed confidence that the demand is likely to be fulfilled by the Union Railway Minister soon.
